Computational Tools for Supporting the Operation and Management of Water Distribution Systems towards Digital Transformation

This paper presents a set of computational tools specially developed for supporting the operation and management water distribution systems towards digital transformation services. These were in scope two R&D projects carried out Portugal, DECIdE WISDom, during 2018–2022. The project focused on development importing cadastral operational data, as well three performance assessment: first allows calculation different key indicators, both at global sectorial level, which is an annual requirement regulator, other allow energy balances complementary indices. WISDom aimed implementation applications that directly address specific utility needs, namely, flow rate data processing, optimal location pressure sensors, identification critical areas network pipe burst location, prioritization pipes rehabilitation. Implemented are useful to support utilities daily their systems, being step forward sector.
